Hi Registrees.  Newsflash!

Only 11 sleeps until our gathering at the Leicester Square Theatre on November 22nd for our live DVD/album recording.

Months ago Guy Davies and I lucked into a more interactive way of doing things when, at the invitation of Andrew Dean and Theo Lorenz, we did a special performance for the Architects Association in  a disused Covent garden building. For a while we’ve been stressing over how to interact similarly with an audience of hundreds, and we’ve now come up with a cunning plan.

We’ll need to reissue the set list, because we’ve tweaked it, but I need to ask you to start thinking of Who, What, Why, How, When and Where  questions associated with the songs. I’ll say no more now, but looking forward to seeing you at the gig.

Hello Registrees Newsflash!

“An intimate, emotive piano and vocal retrospective.” CLICK BELOW

The link above is to a very special concert that  represents the start of a retrospective journey through my musical past; one that I hope will reconnect me with the people who have kindly supported my music over the years.  I’ve never done shows like these-  that cover the entire 18 years of my career–  and I sincerely hope that you will can be present to experience the joy that I have been rediscovering in my back-catalogue.  This first concert will be at a small independent theatre in the Bethnal Green (apparently it’s where one of the Brother’s Kray  got married), capacity  72 and will be performed by me and Guy Davies on piano; an opportunity to experience salon like intimacy ahead of the full  line-up on November 22nd. The beautifully talented Jasmine Rodgers has kindly agreed to open for us.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Hello Registrees Newsflash!

I had a long meeting with Guy today and along the way we came up with a definitive list of songs that we’d like to have ready for the November 22nd gig.

These numbers are likely to surface in the performances mapped out in the Salons Newsflash! @

The covers you have suggested aren’t present because they will be a surprise on the night. At the moment a list of 16 songs, plus 2 covers, will result in a substantial show, so though we’ve tried to include something from every recording phase, some tunes will invariably land on the cutting room floor. I’d still appreciate your thoughts on this lot.

The Covers suggestions list is now closed. As you can see I’ve received quite a few. This list’s first 42 titles are from last weekend’s list and I’ve discreetly removed the ones I don’t think I can make my own. The titles that remain are the tracks that I have returned to with interest. From 43 is a fresh influx of titles. I’ll post these on Facebook for discussion tonight.

If you have suggested a title and it’s missing  just let me know and I’ll amend the list.

Hello Registrees. Newsflash!

I’m delighted to unveil the new McAlmont logo, brilliantly crafted by my Geordie mate genius, Dave Little

As I’ve mentioned in the monthly newletters we’re looking to upgrade the efficiency of operations to enable greater interaction with me and you and to boost recorded output and live appearance. These things are taking promising shape now, so it was important that we create a strong iconic image as a statement of energetic renewal. I’m sure you’ll agree that this is exactly what Dave has accomplished here. A photographic statement dates too easily, so we wanted to go for something graphically iconic and most importantly drawn, something that could be instantly recognisable  yet capable of evolution. I’ve been a fan of Dave’s work for some years and he was the only person I could imagine doing this.

With David Little Designer.

He says, ‘I wanted to create an intense, unforgettable silhouette for the i-pod era. An image that doesn’t lose it’s intrinsic beauty or integrity the bigger or smaller it gets. As always, I work from the T-shirt backwards.’

I would so wear this impressive feat of design. Here’s hoping you like it as much as I do.
